MLB: The Show 22 features five different pitching systems to choose from to fully customize your pitching experience. The pitching interfaces are Pure Analog, Meter, Classic, Pulse, and Pinpoint. The pitching interface can be changed in pitching settings in any mode.
Pure Analog
The Pure Analog pitching system uses the right stick for velocity and release. With this system, you aim the pitch, then pull the right stick back for speed and push it forward towards your aiming spot. The Pure Analog is easy to use and gives a little bit of realism to the wind-up and throw.

Meter
The Meter system uses a simple one-button control that requires timing the speed and release. With the Meter enabled, hold the pitch button until the meter gets to the end, then press the pitch button again when the meter is coming back. The Meter is the most simple system but still requires timing.
Classic
The Classic system uses the one-button control without the need for timing. This system may be simple, but there is no way to control velocity, break, or release. This is recommended for those who want laid-back pitching gameplay.
Pulse
The Pulse system uses a circular pulse around your target. With the pulse system, you time your release by pressing the pitch button when the circle is smallest. How small the circle determines how accurate your throw is. This system does not affect the pitches very much, but can be a unique gameplay setting.
Pinpoint
The Pinpoint system uses advanced right stick movements to simulate actual pitch motions. Each pitch has a different path you must follow with the right stick. You must also time when you hit each point, so this system is for experienced and skilled players. The system is difficult to master but is the most realistic and in-depth pitching system.
