How long will the Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.1 maintenance last?

Final Fantasy XIV is currently down for maintenance as the most important patch of the last four months drops. Patch 6.1 will see the addition of dozens of new features, from new housing, to class changes, and, most importantly, new story quests. But how long will Final Fantasy XIV be down for maintenance ahead of patch 6.1?

In total, the maintenance will last 24 hours, taking place from April 11, at 3am PST to April 12, 3am PST. So you’ll have to find something else to do for a day, even if it’s to sit in anticipation of the patch.

This is based on the official post on the Lodestone site for Final Fantasy XIV. According to the site, these lengths of time are subject to change. So if the game isn’t up and the time has passed, don’t worry. It’s probably just taking a little longer to update.

Beyond this, there will likely be a brief period of maintenance ahead of the release of the Hatching Tide Easter event which is scheduled for April 13. This will probably coincide with the scheduled Mogstation maintenance on the same day.

Additionally, there’s a chance small periods of downtime will take place after the release of the patch. This is either due to a massive load on the servers as players rush to enjoy the new content or other issues surrounding the release. So remember to be patient!
